The Bochum Yearbook of East Asian Studies (Bochumer Jahrbuch zur Ostasienforschung, BJOAF) has been published by the Faculty of East Asian Studies at the Ruhr University Bochum since 1978. The journal is intended as an interdisciplinary forum for academic publications on East Asian studies.
The Faculty of East Asian Studies has been publishing the series Veröffentlichungen des Ostasieninstituts der Ruhr-Universität Bochum (VOAI) since 1968. The VOAI, Known internally as the “Blaue Reihe” (blue series) because of its dark blue cover, the VOAI has published monographs and anthologies on East Asian studies topics throughout the years.
Since 1980, the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, the Richard Wilhelm Translation Center and the Research Center for Taiwanese Culture and Literature have launched a number of publication series.
